Since 2017, Just Pad A Girl Initiative have been celebrating May 28, symbolizing World Menstrual Hygiene Day by providing sanitary pads to school girls while making them understand the importance of periods and good menstrual hygiene. In 2019, we decided that a single day is not enough to meet the needs associated with provision of sanitary pads and menstrual hygiene management, so we launched The 28 Days A Girl Campaign which will hold on the 28 of every month. On this day, at least a girl will get a pack of sanitary pad.
For June 2021, 28 Days A Girl received about 240 packs of sanitary pads donated by Medical Women Association (MWAN), Anambra State.
This is coming a month after the leader; Dr. Chioma Ajator led the group of female doctors to collaborate with Just Pad A Girl to celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day 2021 by providing over 1000 packs of pads to serve over 600 schools girls in two schools in Awka North LGA of Anambra State.
The sanitary pads were distributed to students of Girls Secondary School, Ojoto, Idemili South, Anambra State after a brief teaching on menstrual hygiene management.
